Choir Staff

Christine Sullivan is a voice teacher, choral director and vocal director residing in the Antelope Valley. At a very young age her mother noticed her vocal ability and began to foster it.  She had a natural aptitude for music and began playing the piano and guitar by ear.  She also had a penchant for the stage and at 13 landed the leading role in the first musical she auditioned for! In high school she had the opportunity to perform in many plays, musicals and choirs as well as singing in Disneyland’s Candlelight Procession.  She went on to study vocal performance and compete on the collegiate level for the National Association of Teachers of Singing.  She is an award winning actress and vocalist that brings with her more than 20 years of experience. Christine is a devoted wife and mother, and couldn’t imagine doing what she does without their support.  She is active in her community and church and acts as the Artistic Director of the AV Children’s Choir.

Kami Whitten is an accompanist, Worship leader, Junior High Band Director, and Drama Production Director.  She has been actively involved with AVCC for 6 years and has been accompanying since February 2023.  She is also a teacher with 13 years of experience. Her current position is at Joe Walker Middle School (since 2017) where she is the Band Director and Drama Club Director.  She recently received the Joe Walker Teacher of the Year Award (2023).  She is also the Worship leader at Valley View Church of the Nazarene (since April 2022).  She has 4 teenage children and has been married to her wonderful husband Mike Whitten since 2001.  Before she was a teacher, she was a full-time accompanist and has missed the experience.  She is glad to be back piano accompanying again and thankful to AVCC for giving her that opportunity!

Eva Folsom is an alumnus of the AV Children’s Choir and sang with the choir from ages 8 to 17. She first arranged and directed a capella group performances while still in high school. She has also written and directed theater productions, as well as composed orchestral pieces for college symphonic ensembles. Eva received her bachelor’s degree in Communication and Rhetoric in May 2023 and currently works for Stratolaunch, an aerospace company focusing on hypersonic technology. Eva also serves as the president and director of Father’s Eyes, a Christian non-profit conference for girls. She is very happy to be back with the choir and a part of encouraging music education in the Antelope Valley!

Janell has been a musician for the majority of her life. She‘s been singing since she could make noise and absolutely loves to perform at any given opportunity.

She is currently a music teacher at AMPED (Academy of music performance and education) and loves each and every one of her students. Community theater vocal direction has also been part of her music directing journey. She’s vocal directed for Cedar Street Theater and Palmdale Repertory Theater, for a handful of shows in the last five years. When she’s not doing the musical directing she might be found singing original music with her band or performing on stage for a theatrical production.

She is very excited to introduce choral singing to such a young group of kids and work alongside the other members of the AV Children's Choir.
