The Antelope Valley Children's Choir, in residence with the Community Education Department at Antelope Valley College and located in the High Desert of Southern California, is a non-profit organization with the mission of providing quality music instruction and attaining the highest level of artistic excellence in choral performance. Founded in 1995, the award-winning AVCC has three choir levels, comprised of children from ages 8-17. Director Nancy Schuette and the choir perform a wide variety of musical styles ranging from classical to popular, as well as songs in different languages.
The Antelope Valley Children's Choir has several performances scheduled for the spring season. The AVCC will be performing at the Fundraiser Concert for the Uganda Wajuma Junior School at Littlerock High School on Friday, February 8 (tickets $5). The choir will also participate in the Music in the Parks Festival at Sea World in San Diego on April 25-27. The AVCC will present its annual spring concert, The Music Is You! at Lancaster High School on Saturday, May 17 (tickets $7.50). We hope you can join us!

In a cooperative production with It's Only Tuesday Productions, many AVCC choir singers were in the cast of the award-winning show, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. After almost 5 months of rehearsals, the show was presented at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center on Friday, Nov. 10-Sunday, Nov. 12. It was a wonderful show and the AVCC singers did a great job! For the past several years, Lancaster High School, and Choir/Music Director Tracy Landrus, have graciously provided the AVCC with rehearsal and performance space. The AVCC appreciates your support of our program!

The AVCC also performed at St. Paul's Trinity Church. St. Paul's is the oldest, continuously-used building in Manhattan and is located right next to Ground Zero.
A show benefiting the Hurricane Katrina relief effort featuring local Antelope Valley talent was presented on Friday and Saturday, September 16 and 17, 2006 at Lancaster High School. With $10 ticket donations, as well as other donations from local individuals and businesses, the benefit raised$9756. Community talent included the Antelope Valley Children's Choir, It's Only Tuesday productions, local high school choirs and dance studios and more. The show was organized by AVCC Director Nancy Schuette, Robbie Filloon, AVCC Treasurer and Wayne Berry of It's Only Tuesday Productions.

The choir sang "The Sound of Music" in honor of of Hall of Fame inductee Julie Andrews.
"This is one of the greatest honors we've ever had," said AVCC Music Director Nancy Schuette. "The kids, our families and everyone involved with the choir consider this a most prestigious opportunity. We're thrilled!"
The event was emceed by Pat O'Brien, host of the television show "The Insider." The Video Hall of Fame was founded in 1981 to recognize outstanding contributors to the business of home entertainment and also serves as an annual fundraiser benefiting children's charities.
